For my Advanced Digital Imaging course I was asked to redesign the logo and branding of the HBCU Museum in Washington, DC. I went with bright colors to represent the vibrancy and richness of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities. I emphasized the color purple because the color purple represents, royalty, ambition, creativity, wisdom, dignity, and independence. I went with a contemporary design to create a timeless look to the museum. The different shapes and colors could be used in a variety of ways to brand the museum, and each subject within. I chose imagery that unites past, present, and future HBCU graduates.
